Amsterdam varnishes come in spray cans and bottles and are available in matt, satin, gloss and high-gloss finishes. These varnishes provide a durable, flexible, removable and non-yellowing seal for not only acrylic, but also oil paintings!

Before applying varnish, you should consider the following:

• Make sure that the varnish and your painting are at room temperature during application and drying. If not, a white haze may appear on your work, as temperature changes can cause condensation under the varnish layer.
• Shake well before use. Apply the varnish in a thin layer, holding the spray can approximately 40 cm from your work. Use the varnish only in a well-ventilated area.
• Make sure you apply the varnish in only one coat. Multiple coats can lead to irregularities in gloss.

• Apply when the paint layer is completely dry (4 to 5 days with normal layer thickness)
• Shake well before use
• Dries in a few hours
• Does not yellow
• Can be diluted with turpentine
• Flammable (in aerosol: extremely flammable)
• Dry varnish layers can be removed with turpentine
