With PASTELMAT® paper , Clairefontaine has reinvented and irreparably improved traditional pastel paper! Fine nuances, elaborate details or colour veils — it's all possible with this paper.
Because of the special structure — coarser than velvet, but softer than sandpaper — pastel adheres so well that you don't really need to use a fixative. You can apply layer upon layer without saturation. Your colours remain bright and clean. And you can blend them in a controlled and precise manner . TIP! You can even wash them, because this paper can withstand a little water. And there is also less dust formation, so your studio stays cleaner.
